Do You Have A Focus Word For 2018?

Yesterday morning, I mentioned my focus word for 2018 is discipline.
Last night, being January 1, I began reading my One Year Bible from the beginning again. It has daily readings from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs. I highly recommend it.
Proverbs 1 starts out like this:
These are the proverbs of Solomon, David’s son, king of Israel.
Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline,
to help them understand the insights of the wise.
Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives,
to help them do what is right, just, and fair.
We have the ability and opportunity to connect with our Creator. To know Him, His Words, His thoughts, His will.
But do we?
Or do we take this incredible privilege for granted?
I feel like so many people these days are going through life overlooking God. I know I have at times, although I try not to. Of course we’re going to slip though; we’re human. But some people never even consider God or recognize Him as the source of life.
He’s the source of everything.
Do we realize He’s the only reason we’re breathing?
Do we understand He has infinite wisdom, power, and resources?
Nothing is beyond His scope or grasp.
He has the ability to bless or curse. He has the ability to do anything.
Doesn’t it make sense to at least be mindful of Him? To recognize Him? To thank Him?
Why would we not want to connect with Him daily?
Ever feel like there has to be something more to life?
